VOLUNTEER
Volunteering within the Children and Youth Ministries of Mount Bethel Church
Over the years, changes in our society have led to similar changes in volunteering – not so much in terms of what we do, but what is necessary to do what we do. To protect our children and youth to the fullest extent possible, Mount Bethel Church has developed a three step process for potential volunteers that includes:
i.) Requesting Background Clearances
ii.) Completing our Volunteer Application
iii.) Reading our Child and Youth Protection Policy
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in completing these requirements.
Step One
All adult volunteers working with children in any of our programs obtain a background clearance years through the MBC security portal. Even if you have a clearance, due to your work in a school or other secure location, we need to have your clearances completed through our online portal. There will be no cost to you, as it is covered under the church budget.
The clearance application is handled digitally through Protect My Ministry, Inc., an organization committed to protecting both children’s safety and your personal information. While social security numbers are required, they are kept confidential within Protect My Ministry, Inc. and not shared with Mount Bethel Church.
Step Two
The second step in getting involved within the children and youth ministries of Mount Bethel Church is to complete the Volunteer Application. You can print out the application by clicking on the button below. Upon completion, the application must be signed, dated, and returned to the church office. Your signature on the Volunteer Application indicates that you have supplied the necessary information and given consent for Mount Bethel Church and its officers to run a background check through Protect My Ministry, Inc.
Step Three
The third step in getting involved within the children and youth ministries of Mount Bethel Church is to read our Child and Youth Protection Policy. Upon completion, sign the last page and return it with your Volunteer Application to the church office.
